Product Review: Alpinestars Racing Rain two-piece oversuit
Alpinestars Racing Rain two-piece oversuit, £129.99
Time used: Two racing seasons
What’s good? Designed to be worn over the top of race leathers, I’ve been using this two-piece rain suit for racing the last couple of years. It’s obviously good to keep dry when you’re racing – you’re warmer and more comfortable, which means you can concentrate more on what you’re doing. Most of all it means that you don’t have to put soggy, wet leathers on again for the next race or track session. The best rain suits are the ones you don’t know are there and there’s nothing worse than a suit that flaps in the wind or restricts movement. This fits snugly, the stretch cloth sections let you move freely on the bike and you wouldn’t even know you’re wearing it, if it wasn’t for quips from other people that you’re fashioning some kind of S&M gimp suit. It also has kneeslider holes, so you can still get your knee down.
What’s not? It’s an expensive, but effective way of keeping dry on-track. The suit is toast if you crash in it.
