Spidi Track Wind Pro lady, £700

Time tested: Eight months

What’s good? Quite possibly the best-fitting ladies suit I’ve ever worn, the Track Wind Pro uniquely combines 1.3mm cowhide with large areas of Flex Tenax stretch material. With the stretchy panels in unexposed areas of the abdomen, chest, groin and arms the Spidi suit fits in all the right places, without being too tight or too baggy. The build quality and spec is also top-notch too, with CE-approved soft Biomechanics armour in the knees, elbows and shoulders and cushy neoprene around the collar and cuffs. The styling is also bang up-to-date too, being as it’s a bit of an homage to Cal Crutchlow’s suit – albeit a pink one (although it’s also available in white/black and black/white). Out on track the Track Wind Pro’s vented leather sections in the chest has kept me cool and reasonably sweat-free in the searing heat of the Losail circuit, Qatar. It’s just a shame that the mesh lining inside isn’t removable for ease of washing.

What’s not? The knee sliders are soft, grabby and last about five seconds and they also sit too high up on my legs, meaning often exposed leather touches down inside. And I’ve also somehow managed to rip a hole in the bum – God knows how.
