What’s good about the Oxford Rainseal fluorescent over jacket?
The Oxford Rainseal over-jacket has given me an extra level of weather protection all winter and improved my visibility. I’ve worn it over my normal jacket all winter, hence it looking so shabby. The reflective areas still work despite the grime and it’s not torn or ripped. The zips still work, which is impressive considering the amount of winter miles. The cuffs are adjustable, which means they can fit inside or outside winter gloves depending on the conditions. The waist is also adjustable for a snug fit, preventing the jacket flapping in the wind like a parachute. It may look very secondhand now but it does the job. For a quick throwover water-resistant jacket it does the job and won’t break the bank balance.
And what’s not?
The reflective areas still work, but it’s no longer the bright yellow it once was. The Velcro strap in the left cuff has snapped and the Velcro on the collar isn’t strong enough anymore to keep it closed. It’s worth underlining Oxford claim the jacket is water-resistant not waterproof.
