Luggage Review: Kriega US-20 tailpack

Kriega US-20 tailpack, £75

Tester: Richard Newland

Time/miles: Five years/20,000 miles

What’s good? I have a real soft spot for Kriega’s unapologetic, but quietly understated, excellence. I’ve used its R35 and R30 rucksacks over the last six years, and have had this US-20 pack for more than five. The roll-top closure makes a perfect waterproof seal, and the waterproof inner is removable from the outer. In addition to the main compartment is a large stuff-mesh on the underside (which doubles with an anti-slip function), and a large zipped large front pocket. The genius shines in its versatility: you can use it as a tailpack, tankbag, additional clip-on capacity for your Kriega rucksack, or as a useful carry-away bag inside your panniers.

What’s not? Nothing. They’re so good that I even got a US-10 for when I need more (they clip together), or less, carrying capacity.
