Product review: Nippy Normans bike console

I tested this Nippy Norman phone holder (for my iPhone 7 Plus) over three months across 1500 miles.

Here's how I got on...

What’s good?

As I have no sense of direction, I need my phone to navigate almost everywhere. Sad I know. However, if you’re like me then this waterproof and shockproof phone holder is just the ticket.

Your phone will stay rigid on the bike once you’ve set it in place with the ‘Ram Double Socket Short Arm’ (£15) and ‘Ram U bolt handlebar mount’ (£17).

If you are lucky enough to have a couple of bikes, you can put a U bolt on each to easily move the holder from one bike to another. The case also allows the use of the charging cable to keep the battery from going flat.

What’s not?

If you add up the price of the three components needed it’s quite pricey. One of the clips, which seals the phone holder shut, is also a real ballache to open once closed. This means I always leave that one seal open.

The other three are fine though and still keep the phone in place. You cannot operate the screen of your phone once it’s in the holder either.
