Our Junior Web Producer, James, rode for 1200 miles using the Nuviz HUD Unit, did it change his life?
This head-up display offers a comprehensive list of features. It’ll display speed and satnav data, blast audio into your lid via Bluetooth and it also has a camera. The HUD display itself takes a lot of getting used to as it flickers distractingly in your outer vision. Some MCNers that tried it found it hateful, but you do get used to it after a while. I quite liked it.
While the camera quality isn’t comparable to that of a GoPro, it’s not bad given the list of other features. At first, listening to the system was difficult, with the audio being fairly quiet and difficult to hear when travelling at speed. However, Nuviz addressed this with a couple of updates and now it’s fine
It costs a huge amount of money for something that doesn’t change your life. The unit is pretty darn big, too and is fixed off the side of your helmet in an ungainly way.
