Top 5 panniers and top boxes

MCN Shop

Living and breathing bikes here at MCN, we do sometimes have a bit of a road-block with our love for our two-wheeled companions and that is that, the lack of luggage space can sometimes be a problem.

But as we rack-up a lot of riding miles each year, we've narrowed down the most suitable panniers and top boxes to make any trip with backage easier.

Even if you've just got a bit of a heavy backpack, these top five suggestions should sort you right out:

Givi Trekker Monokey PanniersGivi TRK33BPACK2 Trekker Black Monokey Panniers / Top Box

These great motorbike panniers easily hold up to 33 litres each - giving a combined total of 66 litres worth of luggage that is evenly distributed either side of the bike.

The thing we were most impressed by was the ability to easily convert the panniers to allow for the entire lid to open or to simply allow for the upper smaller opening - giving quick accessibility to items when you need them.

Alternatively a single pannier can easily be mounted as a top case / mono box - if that’s what you need.

You will need a Givi fitting kit, which will need to be bought separately - but these can be picked up pretty cheaply.

Kappa Light Range PanniersKappa Light Range LH202 Expandable Saddle Bags

The Kappa Light Range LH202 Expandable Saddle Bags are excellent value for money - made from durable 420D polyester and 3M reflective material these panniers can hold 16 - 25 litres each.

Equipped with fire retardant bases to protect the bags from the close proximity with the motorcycle's exhaust and easy mounting thanks to easily adjustable velcro straps.

At this price we think they're a steal - especially if you're on a budget and looking for great quality motorbike panniers.

Richa Designer PanniersRicha Designer Panniers

These easy to install panniers are excellent if you're on a budget and want luggage holders that can effortlessly hold between 63 - 84 litres (when expanded).

The Richa Designer panniers are well designed with a strong, heavy construction that sit close to the bike body, whilst expanding outwards.

The zips can be easily locked to keep your posessions safe using simple padlocks to give you that added security parked up or whilst riding.

For the price you get 2 excellent panniers that offer real value for money - both MCN and our customers highly recommend them.

Kriega Overlander 60Kriega Overlander 60

An impressive motorcycle luggage system and no mistake, the Kriega Overlander 60 offers a double-stitched 1000D Cordura construction with reinforced sides and twin straps to compress the load.

These 60L (4 x 15 Litres) packs are 100% dust, sand and waterproof - perfect no matter what conditions you find yourself in.

The kit has to be connnected to an 18mm pannier frame (Touratech, KTM, PowerParts and Metal Mule are all compatible with this system).

But that's not all - these panniers come with ultra-secure cam levers that are mounted to frames with a quick release for when things get a little hairy.

Yes you are paying more for this system but it offers excellent quality for what it is.

Givi Monokey Top CaseGivi V47NNT Monokey Top Box

The Givi V47NNT Monokey Top Case offers a lot of bang for your buck.

With 47litres worth of space and the ability to carry a maximum load of 10kg this tough, durably built top case is ideal for larger motorcycles and even smaller bikes and scooters if necessary.

Easy to fit and remove with the use of a single key - the Monokey series is the top of the range locking system with a more substantial mount - making it sturdier and ideal for year-round riding.
