The summer heatwave continues and while the majority of riders will be loving the chance to get out on the bike and rack up the miles, most will not welcome pulling a hot and stifling helmet onto their heads to do so.

If you’ve had one sweaty journey too many and you’re considering a new lid, here’s SHARK Helmets’ top picks to help you keep a cool head as the temperatures soar...

If you want to go for a proper open faced option, the SHARK Nano is a great choice, ideal for commuting and shorter trips.

It’s neat, comfortable, stylish and has a natural fibre interior with a ventilation system to allow air flow through the helmet. It also comes with a removable “long trip” visor, so you can still use it when you’re going further afield. RRPs start from £139.99.

The SHARK DRAK (previously known as the RAW) has received cult status since its launch back in 2013.

The uber-cool, urban style allows you to easily switch between the three options: open face, with goggles or with goggles and mask, so it’s versatile, looks great and means you can get some air to your face when you need it. There are over 20 colours to choose from and prices start from £249.99.

The EVO-ONE 2 is the latest development in SHARK Helmet’s “EVO” product line, which is the first range of helmets in the world to receive a double homologation as jet and full face.

The patented auto-up/auto-down system automatically lifts the visor whenever the chin guard is raised or lowered while in use, providing the best of both worlds and the freedom to change the helmet to suit the conditions. RRPs start from £349.99.

The Shark Helmets Race-R Pro is the company’s flagship racing model, worn by the likes of Jorge Lorenzo and Johann Zarco.

While it’s obviously a full face option, it features optimised ventilation which has been developed using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), so basically they’ve figured out the best way to get cool air in and hot air out, keeping your head nice and sweat-free in the process. RRPs range from £389.99 to £649.99.
