BIKES FOR SALE

Producing 118ftlb of torque from its 1783cc V-twin powerhouse, the Suzuki M1800R Intruder is as bold and brash as a cruiser can be.

Weighing a staggering 347kg fully wet, at its inception the bike claimed the biggest cylinder bore size (112mm) of any production bike of the day.

Like many Japanese and European cruisers, the Intruder has always struggled to shake its undeserved label of simply being another Harley-Davidson clone, which is unfortunate considering it is actually a much more capable machine.

MCN first tested the Intruder when it was introduced 2006 and said: "For such a lump the Intruder is remarkably easy to ride.

"The 705mm seat height makes standing at the lights a pain-free affair and the feet-forward riding position isn’t such as much of a stretch as you’d think, although if less than a 29in inside leg measurement, you will struggle.

"The weight isn’t an issue on the move because the bike is fairly well balanced, however it takes a good squeeze and stamp of the brake levers to bring the Intruder to a swift stop. Plan braking way in advance."

What the seller says

"This 2008, 08-registration, Suzuki M1800R Intruder is in excellent condition and comes with one owner from new and just 4485 miles on the clock.

"This is a completely standard example and comes with some service history. All the relevent documentation is present, such as receipts and previous MOTs and it is an absolute stunner.

"There is a small age-related mark on the rear fender and that's it. All of the chrome remains shiny and the bike will be fitted with a brand-new set of tyres upon purchase.

"Also included is a four-month parts and labour warranty, with the option to extend that to either 12 or 24 months across the entire Honda dealer network."
