Boot review: Alpinestars S-MXR
What’s good? These are the only boots I’ve worn day-in, day-out without anything falling off them or snapping. Now that can’t be bad, can it?
They’re a versatile pair of boots – I’ve done track days, ridden scooters, cruisers, sports bikes, tourers, commuted through winter in them – and highly recommended for the average rider (that’s me, by the way) who wants to do everything but doesn’t want to change his kit to suit the purpose.
What’s not? So they let in a bit of water around the zip in ruddy hard downpours. That said, they’re not claimed to be waterproof so you can’t bang on about it.
When worn under cordura trousers the worst of the rain can’t get in anyway.
