Product review: TCX X-Five Gore-Tex boots
I’ve been quite impressed with these TCX X-Five Gore-Tex boots over the past 12 months.
Their lightweight design means they’re comfortable both on and off the bike. Being lightweight doesn’t compromise their thermal ability either, I used them through last year’s cold winter and while they weren’t ideal on the worst of days, they were generally reasonable.

The breathable lining also makes them perfect for summer, so it’s rare you’ll get sweaty feet. I wouldn’t say they are 100% waterproof, but they’ll keep your feet dry in most showers; it’s riding in torrential rain over long distance where they let themselves down.
Perhaps the most impressive thing is how they’re wearing; despite 10,000 miles in some pretty challenging conditions, they still look brand new.
