Chief Road Tester Michael Neeves has been testing Oakley Crossrange R sunglasses for four months now, here’s his thoughts on them.......
What’s good? Quality shines through with these Oakley sunglasses, from the classy composite black plastic frames, to the polished ‘Prizm’ polarised lenses. With their comfortable soft-touch rubber nose and ear supports, they’re supremely comfortable to wear, light and snug-fitting. The world looks a crisper, more colourful and optically perfect place through the high definitions lenses and give that reassuringly expensive rainbow effect when you’re looking at reflective surfaces. Most importantly they shade you from bright light, which of course, is what the best sunglasses are all about. You also get an extra pair of alternatively designed clip-in arms and a chunky cleaning cloth/carrying bag included in the price.
What’s not? They’re not cheap and you can buy a pair of similar-looking sunglasses at a tenth of the price, which you won’t mind losing or sitting on, but they’re not going to feel as sumptuous resting on your nose, or offer anywhere near the same level of eye protection.
