Product Review: Richa Savage WP gloves
Richa Savage WP gloves, £99.99
Time tested: Four months/2750 miles
What’s good? After over 2000 miles these are shaping up to be a quality pair of gloves. A few years ago if you wanted waterproof gloves they were like wellies for the hand – but not any more. The Richas offer summer glove feel but without your hands getting soaked in the rain. The only off I’ve had in them was when my ER-6f was reversed over and that was a zero mph topple but it’s good to know there is a Knox hard armour and a layer of abrasion-resistant leather from Somerset firm Pittards on the palm and side of the hand. The gloves were a bit stiff to begin with but very comfortable after the first week or so. The gloves secure with a confidence-inspiring Velcro/leather strap, which is protected by a leather flap.
What’s not? On very warm rides my hands get a bit clammy. The membrane is breathable but not as breathable as vents in dedicated summer gloves. But then vents and waterproofing don’t exactly go hand-in-hand.
