Product Review: Spidi Carbo 3 gloves
Spidi Carbo 3 gloves, £169.99
Time tested: Six months/3000 miles
What's good? I wouldn't normally choose this style of glove as they are designed more with a MotoGP racer in mind than a Honda CB650F rider, but I'm happy I did. The carbon knuckles sit in exactly the right spot and, combined with the soft cowhide, make the gloves very comfortable without taking much work to break them in. Having worn them through warm weather as well as on chilly days they are not showing any signs of wear.
What's not? Depending on what jacket I am wearing I find the double cuff can prove tricky and a bit cumbersome. I also found when riding in 30°C heat my clammy palms caused the black leather to sweat and stain my skin - not a massive issue and it was solved by a good scrub with a bar of soap. They are a lot more expensive than other gloves I’ve worn and, whilst they are very comfortable, I’m not sure they are quite worth the money.
