What’s good about the Alpinestars WR-1 Gore-Tex gloves?
These gloves have been my best friend over the past few months. I’ve worn them on chilly road tests, launches and commuting, on everything from sportsbikes, to adventure bikes, nakeds and cruisers. They’re robustly made from soft leather and are Gore-Tex lined. They don’t have the plastic knuckle and finger protection of the racier gloves I usually wear, but they’re far warmer and the interior is more sumptuous and comfortable. But in the event of anything bad happening, fingers, knuckles and wrist are still covered with extra layers of padded leather. The gloves are just the right thickness to keep my hands warm, but thin enough to feel the bike’s controls. They also fit nicely under the cuff of jackets. They’ve proved to be totally waterproof and there’s also a handy rubber ‘wiper blade’ on the left thumb to get rid of water and muck from my visor when I’m riding.
And what’s not?
I’d prefer something racier for track riding, like the Alpinestars 365 Gore-Tex glove, but for the road these are perfect.
