Product Review: Weise Legend WP gloves
Time tested: Three months/1500 miles
What’s good? Made from a mix of full-grain leather on the palms, fingers and knuckles and Nyspan textile fabric on the back of the hand, the Weise Legend offer winter protection without the bulk. The thermal Primaloft lining, reinforced with a waterproof and windproof Hipora membrane, keeps my hands warm when riding at temperatures as low as 5°C. They also stay dry during sleety downpours, and are retained securely via simple Velcro straps at the wrist and cuff. McFit technology also ensures that you don’t pull out the internal lining with your hand when you take them off, an annoyance which affects many other winter gloves.
What’s not? At temperatures lower than 5°C the cold does start to creep in, and hits my fingers worst of all. There’s also only padding at the knuckles and fingers to protect from impact in a crash, which makes the gloves very comfortable but doesn’t give the reassurance that hard armour provides.
