Product review: Five RFX1 gloves
On my list of great brands you’ve probably never heard of, Five are quite near the top. After a huge number of miles, with quite a few complete soakings, across 16 months, these Five RFX1 gloves are still going strong.
There’s only one significant sign of wear around the leading edge of the stitched-in carbon scaphoid slider, where the palm has worn against the slider, cutting a 10mm slice that neither affects the stability of the slider nor the integrity of the glove. Beyond that, they’re faultless.

The full-grain cowhide construction (goat on the palm for suppleness) has proved durable and they are very comfortable with external seams on the fingers, and a plush lining.
They’re also well vented, feel super-secure, and there’s Kevlar lining, a stretch top panel and a pinky finger bridge, too.
