RST Shadow one-piece suit, £329.99
Miles covered/time: 1000/four months
What’s good? Despite the fact they’re not the top of the range leathers they certainly don’t feel cheap. The 1.2mm cowhide is flexible without feeling too flimsy and there’s armour in the shoulders, elbows, knees and back.
The back armour feels good enough for me not to wear a separate back protector. The arms are almost the perfect length – the majority of time, arms are too short for me.
The leathers are vented but not too much, meaning I can wear them more often than most leathers.
What’s not? The legs are really small compared to the upper body and those on other suits I’ve used. I had to go through several sizes to find a set with big enough legs; consequently the upper body is a bit baggy.
The lining in the legs is way too baggy – not once have I managed to put the leathers on with out my feet getting tangled in the lining. It’s as if the lining in the legs is from a suit a couple of sizes bigger.
