Jacket review: Klan HOT heated inner jacket
Klan HOT heated inner jacket £125.00
Time used: Four months
What’s good: The best thing about this thin, lightweight, windproof heated jacket is I can squeeze it inside the kit I wear the most: leathers and fitted leather jackets. I’ve got it wired into the battery of my Ducati Streetfighter 848, which is a doddle to do, and I reckon I’ll be wearing it until around June, to keep the chill off.
The whole body and arms heat up and keep you nice and warm, which is a blessing on a naked bike like mine. When you’re not using it, it’s small enough to put in your rucksack and not take up too much room.
What’s not: I’ve also tried the jacket, with its remote battery power. A battery the size of that used to power a laptop lives in a pocket on the rear of the jacket, but it’s too bulky to wear inside leathers and if you do, it digs into the small of your back, especially if you’re using a back protector.
The battery only lasts for two hours and the heat it produces is minimal. The jacket is far more effective when powered by the bike’s battery.
