Product review: Muc-off Bike Spray

Muc-off Bike Spray 500ml, £5.99
Used for:
Six months

What’s good? My crash-repaired VFR has had a tough life and has some ropey home-brewed paint (applied by a previous owner) but this spray manages to bring it up to a reasonable shine.

But the Bike Spray is about more than just an easy-shine – it contains PTFE so leaves your bodywork covered in a slippery layer which makes it a little easier to wash off squashed flies and the like.

Also, it drives out excess water and thus helps protect your bike from corrosion.

Simple to use, you just spray on and let it dry – if you are feeling energetic a quick buff improves the result.

What’s not? Hard to fault. £5.99 hardly breaks the bank. You have to be careful where you spray it, though, taking care to avoid the brakes (obviously) and the saddle (or the bike will be like riding a bar of soap).
