Bags-Connection Quick Lock Evo Daypack with Quick Lock Evo tankring, £105
Time tested: One month/ 1200 miles
What’s good? I tried a Ducati official tankbag for my Multistrada 1200, but it was too tall and obscured the Ducati sat-nav so I opted for the Quick Lock Evo Daypack with associated tank ring and it has been just the job. It’s not massive at five litres but can expand to nine litres and can take the essentials I need for commuting, plus, when I head further afield it offers instant access to the things I need most while travelling. Fitting is easy with the removal of four Allen bolts on the fuel cap ring, a plastic ring then goes on top and four longer bolts with spacers secure it. You then need to work out exactly where the plastic mounting plate secures to the bottom of the tankbag, mark it out using the handy plastic drill template and then using the supplied drill bit you have to drill through the hard plastic base. All you have to remember is to open the Velcro fastening of the nylon lining at the bottom of the tankbag so you don’t slice through it. Fitting took me less than 15 minutes.
What’s not? It’s not waterproof but does come with a waterproof cover. It would be enhanced with a see-through top pocket. Over £100 for a tankbag stings a bit.
