Accessories Review: Air Blaster
Air-Force Master Blaster, £199
Time tested: 20 months
What’s good: The ease with which this air-blower can shift water from a freshly washed bike makes it an important element of keeping a bike in top condition and corrosion free. I have used this blower for nearly two years on a variety of bikes in all seasons and it’s been incredibly useful as part of my scrupulous (and some might say obsessive) cleaning regime. The blower has a long and heavy duty hose attached to a 4bhp electric motor with a tapered nozzle for getting into smaller crevices on the bike. Considering how much retained value the bikes I have kept corrosion free and the price looks like decent value. It’s also great for cleaning the garage floor of dust! Oh, and pulling funny faces for my two young children too.
What’s not: The cost is always going to cause one of those instinctive “How much?” moments but if you ride all year then you will appreciate how it can speed up a dark February evening mid-week salt rinse off before putting the bike away. I don’t have the optional set of wheels and it does tip over as a result when you move about.
