Product Review: Bags Connection Cargobag Motorcycle Tail bag
Bags Connection Cargobag Motorcycle Tail bag, £121.91
Time tested: Two months/2000 miles
What's good? It’s a great piece of luggage, so easy to fit to the bike without the need for any modifications. With a 50-litre capacity there was ample space for me and my other half’s essentials for a recent six-day touring holiday. It’s shaped to fit easily on top of the pillion seat and, once secured, it acts a little like a backrest. It fits with straps that anchor to fixed points on the bike, such as the pillion footpeg hangers. There are also elastic cords on the outer that can be tightened to hold items outside the main compartment. It is water-resistant and survived two downpours without leaking, but on a recent trip in very heavy rain the bag leaked. It was my fault for not fitting the supplied rain cover to beef up the bag’s water defences.
What's not? It is a bit cumbersome to carry around off the bike, but it became simpler when I realised there's an integral carry handle! As with all tail bags it does impede getting on and off the bike a little, so it’s a good job I’ve got a 33-inch inside leg.
