BikeIt Paddock Stand for single-sided swingarms, £69.99

Tested by: Tony Hoare

Time tested: Nine months

What’s good? It does exactly the job it promises to do, to a reliable level, and doesn’t cost a fortune, which is exactly what I wanted. Some people want an art installation when they buy a paddock stand, but I want it to lift my bike’s back wheel off the ground without making my life any harder than necessary, and to reliably keep it there while I’m cleaning and lubing the chain. This stand did all of that through my time with a Ducati Monster 1200 last year – my first bike with a single-sided swingarm. It spins smoothly on bearings, is reassuringly solid, neatly welded and tidily painted and costs £70. Job done.

What’s not? After a season’s use, I could find nothing to complain about.
