Product Review: Osram Spylux LED night light
Osram Spylux LED night light, £9.99

What’s good? My garage has no power, so early mornings and late nights can mean fumbling around with a key to try and find the ignition barrel. Or they used to, until I put this simple battery-powered LED light on the wall. It senses motion and throws out enough light to see what I’m doing, then automatically switches off after a spell without detecting motion. It can also be detached from its mount and used more like a torch. The original set of three AAA batteries have just finally run down after 18 months of frequent use – and now with new batteries in place it’s back on full song. And it only cost a tenner in the first place.
What’s not? It can be fiddle to return the light to its holder after use as a torch. And that is a tiny niggle, no more.
