Product Review: Oxford Lifetime X20 tankbag
Oxford Lifetime X20 tankbag, £79.99
Time tested: One 1000-mile riding tour
What's good? Unlike some tankbags I have had in the past, the shaping of this one means it sits well on the tank and the baseplate gives me real confidence that the bag won't move as I lean against it. Although I'm not a fan of sat-nav, there's a separate integral pocket where one can be fitted. I've not used it for its proper purpose, but I found the pocket useful for stowing my passport on a trip to the continent. The fact the bag can be unzipped from the base plate and converted into a rucksack has proved really handy. I got caught in a couple of heavy showers and it kept out the rain, and it also comes with an additional cover for protection in driving rain.
What's not? Being non magnetic I initially found it tricky to fit and once in place the headstock strap is routed in such a way that I can’t get the steering lock to secure.
