WD40 with smart straw, £6.54

Tester: Simon Relph

Time tested: Eight months

What’s good? What did we do before WD40 spray was invented? We probably walked because ‘the damned thing wouldn’t start again’. It’s been around since I was a kid and I can remember using it on the first bike I had, to get it started on a cold damp morning - it was like a miracle worker. I always keep a can on the side in the garage, it used to be the old-style can with the bit of sticky tape holding the little piece of red tubing on the side, which you jammed into the nozzle to allow you to squirt some of the liquid magic into hidden away places. The red tube would always become coated with a little bit of WD40 and would no longer stick on the side of the can (that’s why you always see them on workshop floors).

The new(ish) WD40 with smart straw is the perfect solution to this very old problem, it simply folds round into place when you need the straw, then goes back out of the way when not. What a great solution to a problem for an even greater product!

What’s not? Nothing as yet.
