Product review: K-Tech Razor R rear shock
I've been using this K-Tech Razor R rear shock for two months on my Kawasaki Z900RS Café long-term test bike.
The standard rear shock on the RS is on the soft side, there’s no compression adjustment and the preload is a pain to get to. I’m guessing the majority of owners won’t have a problem with this, but I’m planning on pushing the sporty side of the RS and therefore turned to the experts for help.

The Razor R shock from K-Tech has compression and rebound, plus length adjustment, which I can play with to increase ground clearance (something that is already proving an issue).
The remote preload makes adjustment a million times easier and it now only takes a few seconds to change the preload to accommodate a pillion or luggage. The new shock feels plush, it’s more refined, which in turn gives more confidence.
The spring also matches my weight. The standard shock is fine, in the same way a McDonalds will stop hunger, but it’s not a steak. The quality is outstanding and improves the look of the standard bike. I can’t wait to try it on track.
