Why it’s MCN’s pick:
With Leon Haslam in action at Donington Park this weekend at the first BSB round of the year, MCN decided to highlight one of the bikes that kick-started his career – the Honda CB500.
Yes, this commuters’ favourite formed the basis of the CB500 Cup, which saw a very young Leon dominate the pack and demonstrate some seriously precocious talent for a 14-year-old at a one-off race at the British GP. Where, incidentally, he beat James Toseland, who became that year’s CB500 Cup champion!
Ok, we aren’t suggesting you buy this CB500 and use it to propel an international race career. But if you are after a solid commuter with bullet-proof reliability and a bit of charm, the CB500 is a good bet.
“A very tidy CB500 with just 6480-miles on its clock. The bike has a service history and ABS as well as two sets of keys.”
