To celebrate Scott Redding’s glorious victory at the final round of the British Superbike Championship last month, SHARK Helmets unveiled a one-off custom helmet for him to celebrate - and you can see it at Motorcycle Live!
The striking gold and black Race-R Pro GP – the same helmet worn by Scott Redding throughout his triumphant season – proudly displayed the Union Jack to celebrate the British title, as well as a nod towards SHARK Helmets long-standing relationship with the champion.
Scott Redding’s winning helmet design highlights two important moments – both for Scott and SHARK Helmets. The French brand celebrates its 30th anniversary this year and is proud to have supported Scott Redding since the very beginning of his racing career, paying tribute to the rider’s record-breaking Grand Prix win when he became the youngest ever rider to win at the age of 15. Both significant events adding up to equal Scott’s racing number, #45.
Built for the track, the widely recognisable shape of the GP helmet was designed as a result of state-of-the-art testing by SHARK’s Research and Development teams in close collaboration with MotoGP racers, using breakthrough CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) technology to achieve the best possible aerodynamic efficiency at top speed whilst minimising drag, vibration and maximising stability. The shell is built with a next-generation Carbon On View and Aramid structure (COVA), offering increased resistance to both abrasion and compression, lightness to reduce muscle tension, as well as preventing delamination.
See the special helmet at Motorcycle Live on the SHARK Helmets stand between 16-24 November – Hall 3A Stand 3C15.
