What's good: For decidedly bitter mornings and evenings this autumn, this merino wool/polyester cap has gone on my head before my helmet. And on a number of occasions it's been a godsend. Being seamless, it's comfy enough so that you'd barely know you're wearing it, and it insulated you just enough from the inevitable flow of chill air so as not to bake you. It's really lightweight, and is one of those garments that justy oozes quality. It's also very handy for cycling (which is actually its intended use) and short, autumnal, leaf-kicking walks in the country.
What's not: It's £22 for a hat, and that will put some people off. But if you can afford it, or see beyond that fact, you won't be disappointed.
