25 years ago, in October 1992, Ducati unveiled a new prototype to the world that would go on to be Ducati's greatest success, selling over 320,000 models until this point. That bike was of course the Ducati Monster, which is still around today, and still as popular as ever.

To celebrate 25 years since that first unveiling, we found five great examples of used Ducati Monsters currently available at MCN Bikes for Sale.

Ducati Monster S2R 800 £3,500

MCN says

“The S2R blends the 800cc air-cooled engine with the chassis from the special S4R to create something that offers a bit more exclusivity than your standard Monster. It's not quite up there with the S4R, but it was less than £6000 new and is still good value today.”

Ducati Monster 696 £3,495

MCN says

“The Monster didn't really get a redesign until 2008 with the new baby 696, and it brought the range into the 21st century. The 696 is a great bike for those who aren't bothered about huge amounts of power and it still handles incredibly well, as you'd expect of any Ducati.”

Ducati Monster S4R £3,500

MCN says

"The S4R took the Ducati Monster from a fairly standard naked bike, to something special, long before super nakeds were the norm. The S4R came with suspension from Ohlins, Brembo brakes, and the air-cooled engine was replaced by the water-cooled engine from the 916 superbike family. It was a mad bike for the time."

Ducati Monster 1100 £5,995

MCN says

“Alongisde the 696 came the bigger 1100, which provides huge amounts of grunt for firing between corners, without being too intimidating. There's also a Monster 1100S which offers a little more bling over the standard 1100.”

Ducati Monster 1200S £8,995

MCN says

"WIth the latest big Monster Ducati got rid of the thing many afficionados thought made the Monster range unique; air cooling. The liquid-cooled engine in the 1200S provides bags of low down grunt for easy riding and it sounds fantastic. If you want something a bit sportier there's also the Monster 1200R."
